TEAM IZOD Wins Championship at We Got Next to close 2009

NJ squads took both championships in the
We Got Next Tournament early this afternoon at Kennedy High School in
Paterson. There were 8 teams in both the 10th Grade and 9th Grade
Divisions.
In the 10th Grade Division Team Izod/Sports University held off Team
Philly 45-38. 6-foot Ferris So. Marv Williams scored 7 of his team
high 9 points in the second half. He led the second half effort for
the winners in the game that was tied 26 at intermission. 6-foot- |

Catholic So. Brandon Taylor buried 3 treys and had a game high 11
points to lead Team Philly.
5-foot-10 St. Anthony's So. Matt Johnson was named Tournament MVP and
finished the championship game with 6 points, 4 assists and 2 steals.
In the 9th Grade championship the Playaz held down New Heights from
New York City 64-49. 6-foot-5 Paterson Catholic Fr. Reggie Cameron
scored 25 points on the way to MVP honors. |
